May You Know Nothing but Happiness

I'm almost 2 weeks late posting this personal family update. I'm having a hard time getting into the swing of updating blog, website, Facebook, etc. so sometimes a bit slow with the Big News!
2 weeks ago tomorrow, our youngest (and most outrageous) daughter got on a plane & flew half way around the world (alone) to live with a family of strangers! OK, so that sounds a bit harsh... She was able to get all of her classes at UT online, so she took advantage of the flexible semester & is staying with a wonderful family being their AuPair (nanny). She will be there for several months.
We could not have asked for a better family for Taylor. They have 3 daughters, are very laid back & have been incredibly helpful to Taylor. She is absolutely taken with the youngest daughter, Drea - maybe because she is the youngest of 3 girls & is a mini-me of Taylor!
We skype with her most every day & are totally enjoying her amusing stories & seeing her beautiful pictures of this amazing country! She has started a blog - if anyone wants to read about her adventure, it's called - May you know nothing but happiness - on blogger.com.
Although allowing her to go was extremely difficult for Joe & I, we had to trust that she was ready for this & that all would be good. We felt as comfortable as possible with the family, but it was still very unsettling sending her off alone! Taylor has been a free spirit, independent child since day one & this adventure doesn't really surprise us! Joe & I decided to keep positive about this & realize that we must have done something right in raising her to be so confident & strong.
Taylor would love a hello from anyone (us Yankees as her host family refers to us!)!
Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers-
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours-
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter, too
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!
LUMU, Taylor!
