The Brave, The Bold, --The Brides
Thanx to all those Brides who braved the snow & came out to the Sounds of Music Bridal Fair today. We were all pleasantly surprised at the turnout due to the weather conditions. Nicole & I enjoyed talking to all those that stopped by our booth. Please let us know if we can answer any questions for you. Remember, our bridal fair special runs through tomorrows' fair--complimentary Trash the Dress or Day After session added to all packages booked during the fair. Still unsure of what a Trash the Dress session is--go to my website www.serendipitybygerri.com & look in the featured section for some samples.
Looking forward to meeting more of you anxious Brides tomorrow at the Fair!

Bridal Fair this weekend
Hope to see many prospective Brides, Grooms & friends at the Sounds of Music Bridal Fair this weekend. It is both Sat & Sun from 1-5 p.m. And, Yes, it is still on!! We may be the only event in the city that is not cancelled due to the snow. Hop in your 4-wheelers & come on out!! Nicole & I will be at the Stranahan (booth #43). Looking forward to seeing you there!!

Holiday Baptism
I had the honor of capturing memories of Isabella's baptism. The ceremony was beautiful-back at St. Rose again. Isabella is unbelievably adorable-I've never seen such great hair on a baby!! Thanx to this family for making me feel so welcome in their home & letting my first experience with Indian food be so great!
Christmas Highs & Lows
Christmas High--having all three of my girls here all night on Christmas Eve!! It was fun to wake in the morning with them all here again!!
Christmas Low--Not having my brother, Joe, and his family here for Christmas. We missed seeing Little A on her 1st Christmas.
Christmas High--The procession of the baby Jesus at the Holy Rosary Christmas Eve Mass. The sweet, little girl carrying the baby Jesus & presenting Him to the Bishop was so incredibly touching! Of course, I cried-who wouldn't?!
Christmas Low--The woman behind us at Mass reprimanding her daughter for applaudiing after the Mass & mocking the once a year attendees. Wow-shouldn't we appreciate the fact that we are all there celebrating?
Hope your Holidays were filled with many highs!!
Back to blogging!!
O.K., I'm sooo behind on blogging, so will try to catch up. Things may be out of order as I try to blog recent events, etc. But it's a new year & time to get back to business!!
And business it is--The weekend after Christmas, I had a wedding, Bridal Fair & Baptism to cover. I've had a few sessions & booked a few more weddings for 2009. I feel so fortunate for my dream of my company to take off like it is. I thank all my clients for being so loyal to me & for passing along my name to others. My website has certainly helped with building business, but the best advertising remains word of mouth. Thank you, Thank you!!!
Many of you know that I have been a Pediatric/Neonatal RN for the past 14 years. This past week, I made the transition to contingent status. This means that I am only obligated to 2 days per month at the hospital. I am so excited about this transition, since it will mean more time to spend at my business. I don't plan on giving up my RN license & I will miss the kids. Pediatric patients are so amazing & resilient--I have certainly learned some unforgettable lessons from my little patients over the years. Pediatric nursing really keeps you grounded & helps you remember EVERY day to appreciate what you have & never take your healthy family for granted!
I hope to merge my two careers a bit by starting a local branch of a charity organization that offers complimentary photography to families with critically ill children. I am currently a member of Now I Lay me Down to Sleep-a program that offers portraiture for parents experiencing infant death. These programs are near & dear to my heart & I think it would be a natural transition for me.
I will also have more time to attend seminars, learn more about the business side of business, and maybe have a little time for myself?!
Hope you all have some wonderful plans for the New Year~
